Neethu (born 2 September 1986) is an Indian film actress, who predominantly appears in Kannada-language films and few Tulu and Malayalam films. Her commercial successful movies include Joke Falls (2004), Beru (2005),Photographer (2006) - Malayalam debut, Koti Chennaya (2007), Gaalipata (2008)- (her biggest commercial success up to date.),Krishna Nee Late Aagi Baaro (2009) and many others. She has done cameos in other successful movies like Abhinetri (2015 film)and Fair & Lovely. Her career include working with actors like Ramesh Aravind, V. Ravichandran, Mohanlal, H. G. Known to be a natural and a sensitive actress who has been in the industry for more than 10 years had lots of ups and downs in her career. She acted in serials first and made her debut through the horror flick yahoo which was an average grosser. Her first commercial success movie was Joke Falls where she was paired alongside Ramesh Aravind which garned positive reviews from the critics. She then started in the movie Beru which received many accolades such as National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Kannada andKarnataka State Film Award for Best Film. She made he Malayalam debut alongsideMohanlal in the Malayalam film Photographer.She is a recipient of Karnataka State Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance in the tulu language film Koti Chennaya. She raised to fame in the year 2008 due to her performance which garned positive reviews in the movie Gaalipata which was multistarrer and a blockbuster. She received a Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress – Kannada nomination. She later starred in films which some were successful like Krishna Nee Late Aagi Baaro, Abhinetriand few others. She also starred in movies like Aithalakkadi and few others which garned negative reviews and failed at the box office. She was a contestant in Bigg Boss Kannada 2, where she survived 80 days, hence becoming the first contestant in the history of bigg boss Kannada to be kept in a secret room.. She later appeared as a guest in Bigg Boss Kannada 4along with Rishika Singh, tsunami kitty, NC ayyappa and Bigg Boss Kannada 3 winnerShruti. Early life
Neethu was born on 2 September 1986 inMangalore, in the Karnataka State of India. Her father, Manjunath, was a Tulu-speaking and her mother spoke Konkani.She grew up and was educated in Mangalore. Her father died of jaundice in 2011.
